Discover how visual daily tracking works. Furthermore why it is highly effective. Most importantly, it builds and sustains best habits in a visual way. Furthermore, provides at-a-glance reference.

Whether you are implementing Gemba, 5S or other Continuous Improvement strategies, use visual daily tracking.

How visual daily tracking works to build performance

Above all, visual daily tracking builds performance by making results visible everyday.

As a result, see results daily. Therefore, make iterative gains daily that build performance. Furthermore, sustain best habits in a meaningful way. Finally, support your Gemba Walk and overall Continuous Improvement in a visually accessible way.

The examples on this page show a range of status tracking options. Furthermore, all share that they work with simple dry wipe (dry eraze). In addition, some further benefit from visual status indicators. Nevertheless, the tracking system can work as a standalone visual control.

Firstly, there is daily status tracking. Secondly, monthly. Furthermore, some offer daily and monthly. Weekly options are also available.

Track your own metrics

Above all, you track your own processes and metrics. For example, SQDC.  On the other hand, 5S or 6S. As a result, use your board to show progress in real time. Choose a key and keep updated daily with dry wipe pen to show shift patterns and track results for your chosen metric.

How visual daily tracking works for different shift patterns

Above all, track the shift pattern that is in place where you work.

Firstly, a single shift pattern. With each metric you track on your Daily Management board, for example, choose to track daily progress. Therefore works with one calendar day per month. For instance, like the 5s example in the top right.

Secondly, a double shift pattern. Alternatively, if you operate a day shift alongside a night shift each day, split your metric into a double shift pattern, as used in the example on the right here.

Finally, a triple shift pattern. Some production environments require a triple shift option, such as used here (on the right). Alternatively, choose to track weekly or monthly instead of daily monitoring.

Most importantly, when operating with a a double or triple shift pattern, visually communicate status in a clear and visual way. As a result, supports shift handovers.

Our Approach

We create visual management boards everyday. As a result we have plenty of experience. We work for organisations in food production, the power industry, national rail, pharmaceuticals, education, healthcare, packaging and distribution.

Our team works with a simple idea or sketch and creates a professionally designed layout. This is then turned into a highly functional visual management board.

We offer customised options because we want to create the perfect board for you. So, here are a few examples. We can add magnetic areas or a dry-wipe finish (for use with whiteboard pens). Furthermore, you can choose Red/Green sliders or R.A.G. (Red, Amber, Green) status dials so you can quickly and visually update your board. These are just a few examples of the ways in which our boards can be tailored to meet your needs. You may also be interested in whiteboard overlays that can be used on top of an existing magnetic board.
